The Farmyard is the Homestead of an old ranch first settled in the 1800’s. The house and old barns were built 75-100+ years ago. We purchased the farm in 1990 and moved our family and livestock in. “Hutch”, the oldest horse of our farm family, has been with us since he was 2 months old and we hope to be celebrating his 37th birthday in September 2021!
We added the old red barn and pavilions in the early 1990’s to house our animals and provide a place for parties, field trips, etc. We also offered guided trail rides down to and along the Cibolo Creek with our horses and ponies for many years. Now, we’re mostly offering on farm activities with limited availability for the guided trail rides.
In 1994, we started our mobile petting zoo and rides. We delivered to homes, schools, churches, and community events for over 26 years until the pandemic began in 2020. Since then, we have been focusing more on having parties here on the farm. We would love to keep providing our mobile petting zoo for your local community events as often as we are able. Please email us if you would like our petting zoo to come to your church, school, or community event!
For over 30 years, it has been our pleasure and passion to share our love of animals. Although it has not been easy these last several years (or ever, ha!) we continue to strive to give these animals a great life and to share our love and knowledge with all of you. Our trail horses have grown older now and our truck has broken down, but we have so many animals at the farm that would love to see you! Due to the present circumstances we are currently focusing on parties and field trips at the farm. We also offer drop in times for families to visit.
